The Journal is a record of the research that supports the spoken-word piece. Too, the Journal is ongoing. New entries will be added as the completed sound piece makes its way through the world.
The Journal is about the turbulence and stretch of the Solway and about the civil-military nuclear industries that affect it and connect it to the world.
The entries from the research phase include reports about the days spent along both sides of the estuary, walking, observing, driving, listening, standing still.
The Journal includes commentaries on readings about the nuclear and about the sea from philosophy, the social sciences and the arts. There are commentaries on government documents and edited sections from the committee reports on the environmental effects of the DU firings. It also is about the experience of research, its knots and its piercing moments.
